What is happening?

Background experience and learning.
I have worked in Pastoral Ministry in Sydney, Fiji, outback and coastal Central Queensland. I have also worked for a number of years in the formation of candidates for ministry both in Fiji and Australia. Before moving to China I have accompanied Candidates for Ministry in the Uniting Church of Australia. I have also been involved in working with a group of volunteers who give pastoral care to Homeless men. More recently, I have a role in supporting the mission of a secondary school in Bathurst NSW.
Formal education has been in Sydney, Dublin, Paris and Chicago. While my education as a person and minister has been in a variety of settings. For me working cross-culturally has been a source of growth, reflection, inspiration and challenge. Years spent in Fiji and two years in Beijing have given me personal experience of living and working in a culture different from my own. These experiences have given me an insight into what happens to us when we move to a new culture.
I came to supervision initially for support in my own ministry and to support others in their work and ministry. I began doing the training for supervision to develop my skills in the work of accompaniment and formation. I have since completed the supervision training offered by Transforming Practices and was recognised as a Supervisor with Australasian Association of Supervision.
Preferred Areas of Work.
With my experience of work and training, I enjoy accompanying and working with people in ministry and people who are seeking to reflect on their work and lives. I delight in people coming to a deeper understanding of what is happening in their lives so that become more reflective in what they are doing.
My experience of professional supervision.
For me supervision has been a regular meeting where I have come to greater clarity about the questions and challenges that I face in my work. It has helped and provided the support to enable me to be better at what I am doing in my work in pastoral care and supervision.
